Find out how spring is progressing on North Carolina’s Crystal Coast http://ow.ly/vaY6T

Thin strand barrier islands like the Point at Emerald Isle are always on the move and changing. Read about the ever changing edge of sand that surrounds the Point at Emerald Isle. You can be sure after today’s wind and rain, it will be different and not like I found it on my trip on March 27. http://goo.gl/TH2GZ3

The Point at Emerald Isle is one of my favorite beaches. With a little hiking you can explore one of the great natural treasures of North Carolina’s coast. When you leave it, you do so with the knowledge that it will be different the next time you visit. Even though sand seems to stretch endlessly to the horizon there now, in November 2007, the sands of the Point disappeared only to reappear a year later. All the beautiful water on the Crystal Coast has me dreaming in saltwater.

Life along the marshes and beautiful waters of Carteret Carteret county is an opportunity to live close to nature. We try to leave only footprints, take only pictures http://ow.ly/uLV91

While we wait out this last taste of winter, there is still plenty to enjoy and think about here on the North Carolina coast. Click this link or the picture for more information.

Spring in the mountains is very different than at the coast. However we are all waiting for spring to arrive. Click the picture or the link for more information http://ow.ly/tSH0x
